Developing math problem solving competence for 1st graders in teaching numbers and calculations

Abstract

Problem solving ability is one of the five components of mathematical competence mentioned in the General Education Program Mathematics 2018. The program clearly stipulates the manifestation of the ability to solve math problems at each grade level. In teaching, many teachers are still confused when it comes to effective measures to develop students’ ability to solve mathematical problems in teaching according to capacity development. The article proposes measures to develop math problem solving capacity for grade 1 students in teaching Numerical and calculus content.
