Introducing vocabulary learning strategies in English B1 with the coursebook Unlock – Level 3

Abstract

Vocabulary learning strategies are teachable, dynamic thoughts and behaviors that learners consciously select and employ in specific contexts to improve their self-regulated, autonomous second language vocabulary development for effective task performance and long-term proficiency. Research has shown that vocabulary learning strategies can facilitate second language acquisition and vocabulary use in all language skills. This study aims at integrating vocabulary learning strategies into the teaching and learning with the coursebook Unlock - Level 3.
