Improving the quality of discussion time for the module of Political Education, Intermediate level

Abstract

One of the key tasks of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW8, term XI on fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training is “Innovating the form and methods of testing and evaluation of the results of education and training". For the intermediate level, in 2012, the Minister of Education and Training issued Circular No. 11/2012/TTBGDĐT, promulgating the Political Education course curriculum for professional intermediate level training. According to the Circular, the duration of Political Education module is 75 periods (for the admission system for high school graduates), which 55 periods of theory and 20 periods of exercises and discussions. The Ministry of Education and Training's policy is that "Teachers preside over class discussions arranged by the school with an appropriate scale, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to speak and discuss. Discussion content should focus on basic knowledge of the subject, especially paying attention to the relationship between the country's practice and the students' majors". Thus, discussion is the main form of teaching according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
