Enhancing learners’ motivation in listening lessons through information gap activities: an action research at a high school

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ motivation during listening lessons. The study surveyed 40 12th grade students at Viet Yen High School, Bac Giang. Data were collected from survey questionnaires and interviews. The results of the study showed that applying information gap activities in listening lessons improved students’ motivation. Survey results of students’ motivation in listening skills show that students are not interested in listening lessons. After applying the intervention, students improved their motivation in listening lessons.
