Research on the meaning of the word “Face” in Kieu by Nguyen Du

Abstract

The language in The Tale of Kieu used by Nguyen Du is very flexible, suitable for expressing the value of content, ideas, and emotions. Nguyen Du often uses the method of changing the meaning of words in verses to make poems and verses smoother, more concise, lively and unique. In this article, we only choose the word “Face” in a few verses that, in our opinion, are the most typical and profound for analysis, in order to highlight the effectiveness in using the meaning transfer method of the poem from that work.
