Abstract

This article describes the author’s experience in designing and using various assigments to help students develop their intercultural communication competence. Each type of assignment has its own strengths and limitations and thus, teachers should carefully select the one suitable for the purpose of teaching or assessing, and should employ several types of assignments during the course.
