Developing mathematical modeling competence for students in teaching 9th grade practical geometry problems with the support of GeoGgebra software

Abstract

Geogebra is a special mathematical software used freely in the world and has the interface in Vietnamese. It combines the dynamic environment geometry, dynamic algebra and dynamic calculations; therefore, it actively supports teachers and students in teaching and learning, especially helps students develop mathematical competencies including mathematical modeling competence. With visual images given by Geogebra software, students’ mathematical modeling competence will be enhanced, especially for practical geometric problems.
