Abstract
Imbalance in rotating machine components (commonly referred to as rotors) is one of the main causes of machine vibrations. These vibrations not only reduce the lifespan of the machine but also affect the operation of nearby machines. Therefore, when rotor imbalance occurs, it must be promptly inspected and addressed. Rotor imbalance is defined as an uneven mass distribution relative to the rotor's axis of rotation. In this paper, the author analyzes and evaluates the results of dynamic balancing of rotors on rigid and soft bearings. The analysis and evaluation results clearly illustrate the characteristics of both rigid and soft bearings using the Microlog MX diagnostic device.
