Abstract

This article discusses the role of verbs in the reading comprehension texts found in the Vietnamese Grade 4 textbooks within the "Connecting Knowledge with Life" series. Verbs play a crucial role in conveying the actions and states of various entities such as plants, animals, and objects. This enhances the uniqueness and success of each text, making the messages conveyed to students more vivid, engaging, and deeply resonant. The use of verbs contributes to a natural and relatable narrative, which is also a facet of the rhetorical device of personification.
