Abstract

This study delves into the morphological and semantic characteristics of English environmental terminology, aiming to enhance understanding and effective usage among language learners and educators. By analyzing 1,508 terms from the “English-Vietnamese Mining and Environment Dictionary,” the research identifies key word formation processes, with compounding emerging as the dominant method. The study also categorizes these terms by their structural elements, revealing that two-element terms are the most prevalent. This research offers critical insights for educators and contributes to the broader understanding of linguistic structures within specialized vocabularies, setting a foundation for future studies in this area.
