Abstract

Development is the process of moving from lower to higher states, from less complete to more complete forms, from old qualities to new, more advanced ones. Development involves movement, but not all movement constitutes development; only those movements that trend upwards qualify as development. A common characteristic of development is its spiral progression, which incorporates and seemingly repeats previous phenomena, but at a higher level. This process unfolds gradually, interspersed with leaps that make development intricate and complex, potentially involving relative setbacks within overall progress. A comprehensive perspective helps overcome conservative, stagnant, and biased thinking in both cognitive and practical activities. Based on the study of the principle of development in dialectical materialism, several measures can be proposed to enhance political awareness among students.
