Abstract

Nowadays, English has become an international language and is an essential requirement for most fields of work and study. Proficiency in English opens up many career opportunities for students after graduation. However, English listening skills are often one of the most difficult skills to develop. In improving English listening skills, one of the traditional but effective methods is to use dictation. This study will determine the extent to which listening skills are improved and the factors that influence the success of dictation in supporting non-major students to learn English more effectively.
