Abstract

The study aimed to explore the factorJs influencing learner autonomy in General English courses among students at a private university in the Mekong Delta region. Through a survey of 280 students, the results indicated that learning motivation, time management skills, learning strategies, support from lecturers, and the availability of learning materials and facilities all positively impact students’ learner autonomy. In particular, learning materials and facilities, along with learning strategies, were found to be the most significant factors. Based on these findings, the study proposes recommendations to help universities enhance students’ learner autonomy, particularly in General English courses.
