Abstract

For teaching Vietnamese subject at primary schools effectively, it must involve communication activities to cultivate students’ four skills of Vietnamese reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Among these, storytelling helps students develop their speaking-listening abilities most effectively and clearly. Applying measures to develop these two skills for 4th grade students through storytelling in Chau Thanh district, Kien Giang province in a flexible way will contribute to improving the quality of teaching and learning the Vietnamese language in particular and meeting the current educational reform requirements in general. On these premises, this article proposes the following measures: Developing students’ speaking-listening skills through group storytelling and using role-playing methods; Applying the flipped classroom model to enhance students’ speaking-listening skills through storytelling.
