Abstract

This study aimed to investigate male and female students’ confidence in using technology to learn English. The participants were 25 third-year English majors from Tay Do University. The students were interviewed to find out information about their habits and confidence when using technology in learning. The results demonstrated that male students were more confident than female students in using technology to learn English. Moreover, compared to female students, they used technology more often. Additionally, both males and females often used social media and apps to learn English, and both felt that technology offered many advantages in learning. These results could motivate instructors in higher education to incorporate technological elements into their classrooms to increase students’ confidence in using technology.
