Abstract

During the ages of 5-6, children experience significant cognitive, emotional, and social
developments, particularly in terms of self-problem-solving skills - one of the core competencies playing an
essential role in their holistic growth. This paper systematically examines learning games and their role in
promoting self-problem-solving skills in 5-6-year-olds; at the same time, it highlights existing limitations in
organizing and implementing game-based activities in preschools. From these findings, the paper proposes
several specific measures to utilize learning games to foster children’s self-problem-solving skills.
