Abstract

 In the context of rapid technological advancement, the way students engage with reading
materials has evolved significantly. Traditional printed books and digital e-books are two dominant
formats that may influence cognitive development in different ways. This study investigates the perceptions
of first-year students at Lac Hong University regarding the effects of these reading formats on their
thinking skills, including concentration, comprehension, critical thinking, and memory retention.
