THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES ON THE APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN ESP TRANSLATION

This article analyzes the theoretical perspectives on the application of Artificial Intelligence
(AI) in the translation of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Drawing on traditional translation theories,
the study examines the advantages of AI, such as speed, the ability to process large volumes of text, and
support for terminology management, while also identifying limitations related to contextual accuracy,
consistency, and ethical issues. The article emphasizes the central role of human translators through postediting competence and terminology management, and further suggests the integration of AI literacy into
ESP translation training.
