Abstract

The measure “Developing reasoning ability for Grade 2 students in teaching numbers and
calculations through commenting and evaluating peers’ learning products” aims to train students’ ability
to think, express, and reason logically in mathematics. Through activities such as analyzing problems,
presenting their solutions, self-checking results, and evaluating their peers’ work, students gradually
form habits of logical, careful, and evidence-based thinking when drawing conclusions. Teachers
should organize interactive learning activities that encourage students to compare, analyze, and discuss
in order to find multiple solution methods and select the most appropriate one. Commenting on peers’
learning products helps students not only deepen their understanding of mathematical knowledge but also
develop reasoning, communication, and critical thinking skills. Consequently, this measure contributes
to achieving the goal of fostering students’ mathematical competence, especially reasoning and logical
thinking ability, in primary education.
