ENGLISH GRAMMAR FOR ESP STUDENTS AT HUIT
Keywords:
English for Specific Purposes (ESP), grammar learning strategies, appropriate grammar structuresAbstract
Grammar is a crucial subject for evaluating the language proficiency of English for Specific Purposes
(ESP) students at the University of Industry and Trade (HUIT). According to statistics from the Department of Foreign
Languages (2023-2025), only 20% of students can effectively acquire foreign languages. This study aims to identify
effective methods for teaching English grammar at HUIT and to select appropriate grammar structures for learners who
want to succeed in academic and professional writing. However, it can be challenging to balance the encouragement of
learners’ confidence with the integration of grammar into practical communicative contexts. Teachers can create more
engaging and practical approaches to teaching grammar, which will enhance learners’ outcomes and communicative
competence. Additionally, the study suggests further research to explore the roles of teachers and the preferences of
learners to develop effective strategies for grammar learning
