Abstract

Reading might be assumed as a simple learning process in which students individually and passively work with materials and answer the questions. Some studies showed that repetitive and boring activities, limited discussion opportunities, individual-based teaching methods caused demotivation in learning reading among learners, resulting in ineffective and unexciting lessons. Therefore, this article proposes the use of “Reading circles” in motivating students majoring in English, National Economics University (NEU) to study reading.
