Applying information technology in teaching English following the competence-based approach

Abstract

Currently, the application of information technology in foreign language teaching in general and English teaching in particular is increasingly popular in educational institutions. With its advantages, it helps to enrich lesson contents, make teaching and learning more effective through updated and vivid materials, and contribute to changing traditional teaching methods as well, create completely modern teaching methods. The article introduces some tools and applications to support the process of teaching English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, contributing to the development of learners’ capacity.
