The reality of students’ perception about the importance of socio-emotional competence in learning at Can Tho University

Social-emotional competence plays an important role in helping students understand themselves, manage relationships, and make responsible decisions. This article presents the current
status of students’ awareness of the importance of socio-emotional competence in learning. This study surveyed 504 students of Can Tho University. Survey results and quantitative analysis show that the majority of students appreciate the importance of social-emotional competence. This result shows that Can Tho University needs to pay attention to social-emotional education for students to help students solve learning problems in a positive way.
