Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that 1 in 4 people will have hearing problems by 2050 [1]. In Vietnam, according to data from the General Department of Population and Housing Statistics, there are currently about 2.5 million Deaf/Hard of Hearing people. Deafness or Hearing Impairment (hearing) does not affect the patient’s life, but reduces the quality of life, seriously affecting the ability to communicate, study and earn a living. Difficulty in communication and loss of confidence make the patient withdraw into himself or herself and have low self-esteem.
Zalo is a popular social network used by most deaf people to communicate with people around them. However, in the process of using the Zalo application, deaf people also encounter some problems. This article helps identify the problems that deaf people encounter on the Zalo application and proposes some design solutions to support the communication ability of deaf people on the application
