Current status of teaching and developing cognitive competence in Chemistry for students in some high schools in Hanoi city

Abstract
With the orientation toward competency development, the 2018 General Education Program in Chemistry has been gradually implemented in schools nationwide. The program details the elements of chemical competence, highlighting cognitive chemistry competence as a core and crucial component. The article evaluates the current state of teaching and developing cognitive chemistry competence for students in some high schools in Hanoi. It then proposes solutions to overcome challenges and enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the new phase.
