Abstract

Reading comprehension is a skill that represents the goal of reading activities. Learning is a skill related to thinking and perception. Whether or not reading text is interesting to students depends on the organization of reading comprehension activities. KWL is an active teaching technique that has many advantages in teaching Vietnamese in general and teaching reading comprehension in grade 4 in particular. During the process of researching and understanding the KWL technique, we found that this technique is very suitable for teaching reading comprehension in elementary schools. However, the effective use of these techniques depends on the lesson content, students’ level and the teacher’s creativity.
