Abstract

Reading skill is an important language skill in the process of acquiring a second language. This study aims to verify the effectiveness of applying the Exten-sive reading method to improve reading comprehension skills of non-English major students in specialized English classes. The research was conducted in two classes of Specialized English 2 with 96 students at Thuongmai University. With data col-lected from test scores before and after applying Extensive Reading and a survey on students' attitudes about Extensive Reading, the study shows that the reading comprehension ability of most students has improved. Students feel satisfied when teachers apply this method when teaching reading skills.
