Teaching English to children at home has gained popularity as a means to supplement formal education and nurture bilingualism or multilingualism. This paper reviews theoretical frameworks and practical methods for teaching English to children at home. It assesses the efficacy of various educational theories including Vygotsky’s social constructivism, Krashen’s input hypothesis, Gardner’s multiple intelligences, and Piaget’s cognitive development theory. It evaluates existing research on home-based English instruction, discussing benefits and challenges. The paper also offers concise recommendations for implementing effective language learning activities at home, aiming to support parents and educators in fostering children’s English language skills beyond traditional classrooms.
