Development of self-learning ability is a goal forwarding the renovation of teaching and learning methodology set by universities nowadays. The student self-learning plays an important role, being direct factor that enhance training quality of the university. In the current global integration, it is necessary to be able to use English for work . The English self-learning makes contribution to creation of dynamic, independent students meeting requirements of industrialization and modernization course. The article presents some basic concepts on self-learning skills and proposes several solutions to the development of English self-learning skills for non – major students of Haiphong Unviersity.
