ABSTRACT
Many objects around us are shaped like cones. So the cone topic has a lot of potential in STEM education.
The article presents the design of a STEM education situation through the design of birthday hats. With
situations designed to create opportunities for students to apply knowledge of cones, combined with knowledge
of science, technology and engineering to create meaningful products in life.
