This research focuses on putting learners at the center of learning and teaching. Students in this situation must learn to develop self-motivation, participation, and responsibility for their own learning. Self-study techniques require students to think constantly in addition to passively absorbing in the particular matter. It means that individuals must constantly learn and improve their language abilities, as well as expand their knowledge. Furthermore, each faculty member has their unique approach, style and teaching experience, which students must learn gradually and keep up with. Reading plays an important role in language acquisition, as it provides knowledge of the target language, and allows students to experience the culture and life and the information the target language provides. Developing reading comprehension is one of the strategies to build effective reading habits. For this reason, building reading comprehension habits is a necessary proposal, contributing to enhancing the ability and sense of self-study of each student of the University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
