Second year students tend to exploit online resources for translation purposes frequently in foreign language lessons, especially in writing ones, even for those with limitation in vocabulary and grammar knowledge or the goods. However, the answers on its positive effects on learners’ writing performance are still questionable to instructors. To minimize students’ addiction to this learning practice and take advantages of this source, the writer will examine some theoretical information on the use of this tool and its role in learners’ writing process. Due to the limited extent of the paper, Google Translate (GT) app is the online resource mentioned.
