The study conducted a survey of 30 lecturers responsible for non-specialist foreign language courses to investigate the status of the foreign language speaking communication skills of students at Nha Trang University. The aim is to understand the existing challenges and propose solutions for improving these skills. The findings indicate that while the non-specialist foreign language teaching activities at the university are diverse, students’ communication skills remain limited, primarily due to their awareness and motivation. Based on the survey results, the study suggests solutions to enhance the foreign language speaking skills of Nha Trang University students.
