Abstract

The Hung Kings era not only shines with the tradition of nation-building and defense but also represents the convergence of the Red River civilization - Dong Son culture, the spiritual foundation - the unique cultural identity of the Vietnamese community, in which the Hung Kings Commemoration - the Hung Temple Festival is one of the core nuclei that gathers the strength of national unity. Today, the worship of the Hùng Kings and the Hùng Temple Festival are not only recognized as outstanding intangible cultural heritage of Vietnam but also as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This article discusses the significance and value of the Hùng Temple Festival in both the past and present.
