Abstract
With the aim of minimizing negative environmental impacts and promoting sustainable development, green practices have being concerned in the tourism industry - a sector that brings significant economic benefits but also causes notable environmental consequences. This study was conducted at two five-star hotels under the Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Vietnam: Park Hyatt Saigon and Hyatt Regency Danang. The objective is to examine the current state of green practices in these hotels, suggest lessons and solutions to enhance green practices not only in the surveyed hotels but also in other hotels in Vietnam. The research involved in-depth interviews with 20 participants, including hotel managers, staff members, guests at the two hotels, and experts in tourism and environmental fields. The study framework is based on the model proposed by Li Zhang et al. which encompasses five key components: green design, energy conservation, environmental protection, green products and services, and social, environment and economic effects.
