With great demand for many different fields, iron ore raw materials for cement production are becoming increasingly depleted. The shortage of this raw material will directly affect the price, quality and properties of cement, in addition to causing problems with environmental pollution, climate change, etc. Besides, along with With the development of the current mining industry, it is necessary to research, treat and recycle the amount of Oxide Tailing Cell being emitted at mineral processing plants in Vietnam. Research on using OTC ore tailings to replace raw materials in cement production has scientific and practical significance, not only helping to replace the increasingly lacking iron ore raw materials, but also being a solution to consume iron ore this waste.
This article presents research results on using OTC as raw materials for cement production. The results show that, when replacing at a rate of 0 - 100% iron ore, criteria such as standard water content and setting time tend to be improved, however, the strength criteria have some differences. downward trend from 0 -10%. When compared with the technical requirements of TCVN 2682, cement samples using up to 100% OTC to replace iron ore still fully meet the technical requirements and according to the classification reach PC40 level.
