Variation of PM2.5 concentration in central areas of Hanoi city and proposing PM2.5 pollution control measures

Abstract

Resolution No. 57/2025/NQ-HĐND of Hanoi, which specifies the criteria, conditions, and roadmap for implementing low-emission zones in the capital city according to the 2024 Capital City Law, has been issued. This is a major step forward in strongly implementing pollution reduction solutions in the central area of ​​the capital. To minimize emissions of pollutants in general and PM2.5 dust in particular, comprehensive solutions are needed, based on the causes of emissions. This study surveyed and assessed the current state of PM2.5 dust pollution in several streets in Hanoi's Old Quarter to identify the causes of pollution. Based on these results, the study proposed to PM2.5 pollution control measures.
