Evaluation of operating performance on expressway system in Vietnam

Abstract

Based on the current situation of organizing and exploiting the Eastern Expressway routes from the beginning of 2023 to March 2024, there have been too many congestions and traffic accidents. We must evaluate the economic development benefits brought by those routes in comparison with the number of traffic accidents, many of which are catastrophic. Therefore, it is necessary to review whether the investment and management of state authorities is really effective or not. The article aims to re-evaluate the investment efficiency of the Eastern Expressway routes and find out the shortcomings to have timely solutions to many issues  including congestion, traffic accidents, driving speed, etc.
