Seismic vulnerability assessment of a low-rise reinforced concrete frame building by fragility curves
Abstract
Abstract:
Fragility curves provide a powerful solution tool for seismic vulnerability assessment of such structures. The use of fragility curves to evaluate the vulnerability assessment of a structure subjected to earthquakes was presented in some article researches in the world, however, it is few researches in Vietnam related the vulnerability assessment of a structure using fragility curves. Reinforced concrete (RC) frame buildings are often susceptible to damage in different damage states due to magnitude of earthquakes. In this paper, seismic vulnerability assessment of a low-rise RC frame building using fragility curves is investigated by finite element analysis. The results show that the values of probability of exceeding slight damage states decrease, while the
values of probability of exceeding extensive and collapse damage states increase with the increase in the spectral displacement.
