Abstract
Abstract
Small and medium-sized industrial enterprises (SMEs) are an important and essential part of the economy in developing countries. In Vietnam, these SMEs, especially small ones, are often organized in forms of household handicraft production, craft streets or craft villages. The current industrial parks and clusters have addressed the developmemt requirement of large industrial enterprises, but are not suitable to meet the requirement of SMEs due to their mixed-form characteristics. This study aims to identify the spacial characteristics of SMEs and on the back of premise and experience from current industrial cluster development, the study proposes new industrial clusters model for these SMEs in Hanoi along with planning and design solutions.
