Calculation of bearing capacity of concrete beams using FRP reinforcement according to standard ACI 440.1R-15
Abstract
This paper presents the calculation of the nominal bending resistance of concrete beams using FRP bars reinforcement according to standard ACI 440.1R-15. On the basis of the calculation procedure, the influence of compressive strength of concrete on the change of bearing capacity of beams in the cases of failure is investigated. The analysis results show that, when the
FRP reinforced concrete beam cross section is damaged by the concrete being crushed, the change in compressive strength of the concrete makes more changes in the bearing capacity than in the case damage due to cutting off FRP bars.
