Improving of bidding work for construction companies in Vietnam

Abstract

The efficiency of Bidders’ activities is assessed mainly based on factors, such as: the ability to win the bidding package, ensuring economic efficiency, and satisfying requirements of the Investor. To achieve these goals, Contractor must have sufficient ability, good construction plan, and an appropriate bidding’s price. In this research, the author reviews reseaches of the competitive bidding, and analyzes actual bidding experiences in Vietnam and over the World and related legal documents; in order to provides orientations to perfect the bidding work for construction bidders. Its results show the necessities of building a complete bidding database, applicating of analyzing methods for the competitive bidding; improving quality of technical proposal, applying new technology and equipment to reduce costs while maintaining or improving project quality. The research also introduces theoretical foundations for bidding cost strategy, to help
bidders select suitable pricing strategy in specific bidding package.
