Calculation of profile steel sheeting based on en 1993-1-3

Abstract

This article presents a procedure for calculating profile sheel sheeting using the effective width method according to European Standard EN 1993-1-3. The calculation procedure aims to determine the effective cross-section of the profile steel sheeting, taking into account the influence of intermediate ribs in the flange as well as in the web. An example is then presented to determine the moment resistance of the profile steel sheeting to illustrate the calculation process.
