Indicators for evaluating transportation systems in urban planning in Vietnam
Abstract
The transportation system is considered the backbone, the crucial element for urban development. In Vietnam, there have been initial studies on transportation criteria, but the evaluation criteria in urban planning are still incomplete. Legal documents before 2000 already had evaluation criteria for transportation system planning. This study synthesizes evaluation criteria for transportation systems in urban planning in Vietnam from 1997 to present, while also compiling evaluation criteria for transportation systems worldwide. Based on this, additional evaluation criteria for transportation systems in urban planning are proposed to be included in construction planning standards. It is hoped that these results will support policymakers and scientists in urban development in Vietnam today.
