Social housing development in Hanoi according to sustainable orientation: Necessity and direction
Abstract
Social housing development is an important socio-economic development policy. The State has issued the policies to promote the development of the housing, and also providing housing for social policy beneficiaries, low-income people and poor people. Statistics from the Ministry of Construction showed that about 1/3 of residents in Hanoi, who faced the housing difficulties, of which 90% of people aged 18-35. The housing development program in Hanoi city for the period 2021- 2030 has been approved, the target of the social housing development by 2025 was shown about 1,215 million m2 of floor space. Comparing to people's real housing needs, the approved plan only meets about 18% of the housing needs. Developing social housing is still the top goal of the Hanoi government in the coming time. This article will explore the current situation of social housing and highlight the shortcomings that need to be resolved in social housing policy in Hanoi.
