Abstract

Buckling of floor tiles is a very common phenomenon in constructions with large floor areas finished with hard flooring materials such as granite tiles (quartz tiles), ceramic tiles, fired clay tiles, etc. This phenomenon not only affects the psychology of the users of the construction but also causes unnecessary costs for repairing. However, the main cause of the above phenomenon has not been satisfactorily explained in previous literature. The current paper provides a more in-depth analysis of the main causes of buckling of floor tiles, thereby proposing prevention and remediation solutions; helping direct stakeholders of construction projects have a more accurate view of this phenomenon and have effective prevention solutions in the future.
