Abstract

In this study, the authors focus on evaluating the predictive accuracy of current design standards and several existing formulas for the fire resistance of reinforced concrete (RC) columns. Additionally, a new formula is proposed based on experimental results and the collected experimental dataset to assess the fire resistance of RC columns. The proposed model is simpler and offers more convenient practical calculations compared to previous models. The prediction results using the proposed model demonstrate greater efficiency and accuracy than the existing models. The effect of design parameters on the fire resistance of RC columns is also examined using a parametric study.
