Abstract

This paper analyzes the influence of material behavior models on the deformation and stress of short reinforced concrete column. Analysis results will clarify the behavior of short reinforced concrete column in each specific case of concrete and rebar material behavior models. Two concrete material behavior models
and four rebar material behavior models are analyzed in a simulation with the CSiCol software on which a short column, is compressed by eccentric concentrated load. Strain and stress in concrete and rebar are expected to be differ for each concrete and rebar material behavior model. This revealed the importance of choosing suitable material behavior models when analyzing and evaluating short reinforced concrete columns subjected to eccentric load.

Key words: Strain; stress; short column; reinforced concrete; material behavior models.
