Behavior of steel structures at high temperatures and fire protection solutions for steel structures

Abstract

Fire prevention is necessary for the safety of structures in general, and steel structures in particular. Steel structures have the disadvantage of week fire resistance. Studies by experts show that the maximum fire resistance limit of steel structures can be 15 minutes under the standard of fire. Therefore, the steel structure must be designed and constructed so that it maintains the necessary durability in case of a fire. This article presents an overview of the behavior of steel structures at high temperatures and fire protection solutions for steel structures in construction projects in Vietnam.
