Assess Risks in Implement Green Building project in Vietnam
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Despite receiving a lot of attention, Green Building (GB) still face many obstacles in their development. In which risks emerged as a significant obstacle and received more attention from the construction community recently. The purpose of this study is to investigate risk factors that GB projects frequently suffer in Vietnam. To do that, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to identify preliminary risk factors in GB projects. This list was then reviewed and complemented through interviewing industry professionals. In the next step, a survey of 147 construction practitioners was conducted to assess these risk factors. This paper identified and assessed risk factors through phases of a GB project, thus could be a useful reference guide within the construction sector. Furthermore, this study examined the effect of participants’ experience on GB risk assessment. The ANOVA analysis revealed that participants’ GB experience was significantly correlated with risk assessment, while industry experience does not affect the risk assessment process. These findings signify the essential role of GB experience in risk management in GB projects. This study provided empirical evidence of risk assessment in GB projects in Vietnam
